FAA Renewal and Reinstatement for When Your Registration Expires

Everyone knows that, in order to be able to use your aircraft, its registration needs to be in order at all times. This means that, if the expiration date is slowly approaching, you will want to start looking into the FAA renewal process.

FAA renewal

You can’t let your aircraft registration expire if you want to be able to continue flying uninterrupted. After all, you cannot fly if your aircraft registration is not in order. So, this is why it’s so important that you renew it ahead of time so that it can still be valid by the time it ends. All you need to do as part of the process for an FAA renewal is to submit the corresponding form to the Federal Aviation Administration, which you can easily do so through our own website. Here you will not only find the form in and of itself, but also the way to submit it directly to the FAA and pay the corresponding form. We can also check it to make sure the FAA doesn’t return the form back to you because of tiny mistakes.

What Happens if Your Registration Expires?

So, what happens if you, for whatever reason, let your registration expire? Well, don’t worry, it’s not unsalvageable. You can still, after all, get it back up and running fairly easily. However, you will not be able to go through the FAA renewal. Why? Well, the renewal process is only meant to be for those whose registration hasn’t expired just yet. So, if the expiration date of your registration is coming up, go ahead and renew your registration while you can. Remember that even if your registration only expired a day ago, renewal will no longer be the way to go. That’s what the reinstatement process will be for.

Reinstating Your Registration

So, did your registration expire? Let’s go over what you need to do in order to reinstate it now that this happened. This process is fairly similar to that of the FAA renewal except that it will be a little more extensive (and, well, expensive). When your registration expires, it’s essentially frozen in the Federal Aviation Administration’s registry. The reinstatement is the process by which you will thaw it out. It’s still there, it’s just not valid yet. The re-registration form is readily available on our website for you to fill out. All you need to provide is your contact data, information about the aircraft, and the reasons behind you seeking reinstatement. Once you’ve filled out the form, you simply need to pay for the fee and submit it.
