There’s nothing like flying your own plane. Many experiences in life are billed as making you feel “as free as a bird.” Only one experience however makes good on the promise. Flying allows you to go to places that can only be imagined and see things you wouldn’t believe at speeds that can be difficult to comprehend. Flying is, for lack of a better word, magical. Documentation, however, is not. Documentation is drab, boring, lengthy, complex, confusing, confining — essentially the opposite of being free as a bird. So, as people who loved flying but didn’t like dealing with documentation, we decided to do something about it. In this blog, we’ll go over some improvements for our airplane records site and how it can make your flying experience just a little bit better.
Airplane Records One Stop Shop
If you ever had to look for airplane documentation before the rise of the internet, you know how difficult it could be. You had to drive somewhere or possibly print out the forms that you needed. Then, you had to hope they were right forms. Once you had them, it was time to fill these forms out. This could take a lot of time. After you got all of the information down, you mailed them in, and… waited. Hopefully, you later got the documentation you were looking for. Of course, if you were like too many others, you got your own forms mailed back to you. This was due to there being some error, whether major or minor. Then, of course, you had to start the whole process over again.
Document Processors and More
If this has happened to you, then it happened one time too many. This part of the process was always deeply frustrating. In our quest to make it easier, we realized that the best way to deal with this was to put real professionals on the case. So, we hired the best document processors we could find. These expert proofreaders go through every form that’s submitted to our site. There, they make sure that everything is filled out exactly as it should be. If there are some small errors, if there’s something incorrect, they fix it. No matter what happens, they ensure that the document isn’t sent to the appropriate authority without being absolutely correct. This way, you never have to go through getting your document sent back to you. It’s one more way that we can protect your documentation.
Protecting Your Documentation Electronically
Of course, there’s more to protecting your documentation than simply putting some document processors on it. When you submit your aviation documentation through us, we know how critical security is. Seemingly every other day it seems, another major company gets hacked and all of their customers’ information is leaked to the web. That’s the last thing we would ever want to have happen to our customers. We take protecting your information very seriously, as it’s one of our most important responsibilities. So, we’ve added advanced SSL encryption to our site. That means that our security is better than ever. Of course, our site moves just as quickly, it’s just more secure now.
Continual Improvements
That being said, it’s not like we’re finished improving our site or our security. Indeed, hackers and others who would seek to steal your information never say “well, we’re going to give this up.” So, neither do we. Today, we’re proud of our SSL encryption but we’re always looking for new ways to improve our security. On top of that, we’re always looking for new ways to improve our site, too. One of our newer improvements is to change the layout. We saw that many of our customers were looking for the same forms, so we put them right in the center of the site. Indeed, as “renewal” might be out most popular form, we just made it so that our home page opens right to it.
Of course, it’s not like the rest of our forms are hard to find. Indeed, you can see the entire list on the left hand part of our site. There, you can find all of the documentation that you’ll need to get your plane off of the ground and keep it in the sky, legally. We know how confusing all of this documentation can be. We were once in the same position that you are. We wanted to make the process as simple as possible.
To that end, we know that we can always make it even better for you. Should you have any questions about airplane documentation, or what kind of documentation is right for your aircraft (and at what time) don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re always glad to talk about planes. Give us a call at (800) 357-0893 or message us through our site.
