When you first registered your aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, you had to provide an address under which you could register the aircraft. This is standard procedure, after all, since there needs to be a way for the FAA to reach the owner of the aircraft in case of emergency or necessity. This is why it’s so important for you to maintain the registry updated in case that something in relation to the aircraft changes. If you move at some point, you will need to update the registry accordingly. Updating Aircraft Ownership Arrangements
Now, another instance in which you will also have to update your entry in the registry will be when the aircraft changes owners. This will be relevant whether you are adding an owner, removing them, or fully transferring the ownership to someone else. The form is pretty simple, but it will call for you to submit some information about the aircraft and, in the case of a full transfer, a bill of sale that confirms who the new owner will be.
