As the owner of an airplane, it is likely that you are extremely busy, and as with most busy people sometimes it is easy to overlook things such as documentation and paperwork. Even if you think that you are completely on top of everything, sometimes you can leave important things such as airplane renewal to the very last minute. You know this is a mistake and that it shouldn’t happen, but now it is getting close to renewal time and you need to step up and go through with the process to ensure that your plane doesn’t lapse out of registration. You can learn more with our help to make sure that you renew your plane in plenty of time.
As The Time Gets Closer
You have a full three years to remember to renew your aircraft registration, and the FAA is so helpful that it sends out a reminder six months before the registration expires. This is the perfect time to start getting your documents organized, and if you have the free hours then you can get it done as soon as that reminder arrives. In fact, you could even wait until the two-month reminder that the FAA send, for they are keen on you remaining on the registry. What you don’t want to do is wait until the registration time expires, as this will leave you with a plane that you cannot legally fly. Instead, you need to take time from your busy schedule to complete the renewal forms and send them away.
Getting Your Registration Organized
It is not hard to renew your plane if you choose to use online tools. The FAA website has all of the forms and information that you need, although you might struggle to find it if you are in a hurry. Once you have the form, you need to submit it. If you are applying directly to the FAA, then you will have to get a physical copy of the form and mail it to the authority. However, if you choose to use a third party as an assistant, you cannot only download the information from the website, but you can also send it electronically to 3rd party, allowing you to handle the whole process electronically. This is much more convenient if you are very busy and regularly out of the country.
