In the United States, aircraft registration is now valid for seven years.
This means that if you registered your aircraft after January 23, 2023, you won’t need to renew it until seven years from the date of initial registration.
Important to note:
- Before January 23, 2023: If your aircraft registration expired before this date, it was valid for three years.
- Automatic Extension: If your registration expired between January 23, 2023, and December 31, 2023, it was automatically extended for four years.
Renewal Process
When it’s time to renew, you’ll need to submit an Aircraft Registration Renewal Application (AC Form 8050-1B) to the FAA along with the required fee.
